Terry Velligan, General Manager (Operations) at United Bridge Partners, a private bridge infrastructure firm, was featured in the 2018 Professionals to Watch section in The Times of Northwest Indiana news website. The web magazine recognizes leaders in business, industry, health and human services, every July.
Velligan, 53, is managing operations for the new Cline Avenue Bridge. The bridge will connect the Indiana Toll Road with Chicago, and will widen the accessibility of the Gary/Chicago International Airport, lake-based casinos, and the lakeshore.
Considering Velligan to be “a great choice” for leading the bridge project due to his familiarity with the local communities, Dave Ryan – Executive Director at Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, is very hopeful about the project’s effect on the local community.
As a resident of East Chicago and Lake County, “I’m going to be traveling over the bridge as much as anyone else. Years from now, I’ll drive by it and say, ‘I was part of that,’ and I’ll take great pride in that” said Velligan.
