When it opens in early 2023, this new entrance to Joliet’s CenterPoint Intermodal Center will provide the fastest route for trucks and employees to access I-80, which will save time, miles, and costs.
Construction is underway and crews are making tremendous progress on all aspects of the 1.5-mile-long bridge, including the 0.4-mile section over the Des Plaines River. The project is on track for an early Spring 2023 opening and toll pricing is now available online.

Liberty & Independence Bridges – Bay City, MI
Bay City Bridge celebrated the grand opening of Liberty Bridge in late December in a ceremony that included a “first drive for charity” and paid tribute to workers from seven local unions who rehabilitated Liberty Bridge in just one year.
Liberty Bridge now offers the most reliable route with a smooth new road surface and new bridge mechanics, electronics, and technology. By taking the most direct route to their destination, users will now experience greater time and fuel savings as well as convenience. Tolling will begin in April 2023.
Meanwhile, pre-rehabilitation work has begun a short distance up-river on Bay City’s Independence Bridge. Completion is targeted for 2024.
