As destination developments proceed in Hammond, Dave Ryan, executive director of the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, expresses his positive thoughts on the new Cline Avenue Bridge that will reconnect Hammond with Chicago.

“Reconnecting Chicago to Hammond will generate business and revenue for the city” says Ryan. According to him, the old bridge carried a lot of traffic that delivered goods and services to the community. “The new bridge will open several possibilities for new business ventures” he furthers.

Ryan acknowledges the developmental efforts of Hammond Mayor and believes the Mayor’s visionary philosophy will help contribute to the success of the new Cline Avenue Bridge. Hammond city has been working monumentally with the Lake County Economic Alliance to have a regional chamber for the benefit of the entire Lake County.

Hammond city is already undergoing destination development activities, with construction on the $17 million Hammond Sportsplex, and Community Center on track for fall completion. Ryan affirms the significant benefits of the new Cline Avenue Bridge, to these development activities. The bridge is expected to open in 2020.
